DESCRIPTION
As a subconsultant, Emerio developed two separate PS&E design packages from PBOT’s preliminary engineering plans. The objective along multiple sections of these heavily traveled commercial corridors was to engineer pedestrian safety improvements and to improve accessibility to transit by providing pedestrian crossings with ADA ramps and sidewalk infill. Along the SE/NE 122nd Avenue corridor, Emerio was responsible for grading, paving, striping, and signing for two Rectangular Rapid Flash Beacon (RRFB) crossings and one HAWK crossing (High Intensity Activated Crosswalk Beacon). Along SE Foster Road, a new sidewalk corridor was added, closing the gap in the existing sidewalk to improve accessibility. Stormwater improvements included catch basins and storm pipes resulting from revised geometry of the curb and gutter.
