Job Description

Summary: Project-level design requires knowledge of Civil3D and/or MicroStation, OpenRoads, and Bluebeam. The Designer must possess good writing and communication skills, knowledge of federal, state, and local agency standards and specifications.

Duties and Responsibilities  include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    1. Possess ability to prepare project-related documents, including plan and detail sheets and estimates for bidding and construction.
    2. Communicate effectively with others.
    3. Coordinate effectively with agencies.
    4. Use Civil3D and/or MicroStation, OpenRoads, and Bluebeam.
    5. Monitor own scope, schedule and budget and communicate with Project Manager for each project.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or Associate’s degree from a two-year college and two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and professional correspondence.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:  To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office; spreadsheet software; design software (i.e. Civil3D and/or MicroStation, OpenRoads and Bluebeam); and internet software.

Certificates and Licenses: Valid Driver’s License required.
